Gongguan Night Market Grub?

fmd_good Gongguan

So I'm heading to Gongguan next week, super hyped to finally check out that night market everyone raves about. Heard the stinky tofu is legendary…but I'm a total lightweight when it comes to strong… more

Haha, stinky tofu is a commitment. Gongguan's a sensory explosion, that's for sure. Instead of fighting the smell, try embracing the strategy of distraction. Focus on the visuals – the vibrant colors, the bustling crowds, the crazy amount of food choices. And maybe, just maybe, strategically position yourself downwind of the particularly pungent stalls. Also, have a backup plan – something mild and delicious to cleanse your palate between bolder culinary adventures. Think fresh fruit or some bubble tea. You'll survive. Probably.

Taipei Dome Dilemma?

fmd_good Taipei Municipal Stadium

So, I'm heading to Taipei Municipal Stadium next month for a concert. Been looking at photos, and it's HUGE. My question is: what's the best way to navigate the crowds getting in and out, especially… more

Honestly, the crowds after a big concert at Taipei Municipal Stadium are... legendary. It's a total mob scene. There aren't really "less congested" exits – it's pretty much a free-for-all. Your best bet is to be patient, and maybe try to leave a bit earlier than you think you need to. Like, seriously, before the encore even starts if possible. If you're stuck, just go with the flow. Don't fight the current; you'll just get swept away. It'll be a bit of a squeeze but it'll eventually clear up. Grab a taxi or Uber ASAP once you're out. They'll be everywhere.

Wow, that sounds brutal! I had no idea it was that bad. Thanks for the heads-up. Leaving early sounds like the only sane option. I guess I'll just have to accept a slightly truncated musical experience for the sake of my sanity and limbs. Good to know about the taxis and Ubers though – that's reassuring. I'll definitely be prepared for a bit of a crush.
