Surprisingly mild, almost creamy, with a slight fermented tang. It's weirdly addictive. If you're genuinely that picky, maybe skip the super-fermented ones and look for a stall that offers a less pungent version. It's a Gongguan Night Market rite of passage, even for plain pasta people. And if you hate it? Well, you can always grab a 7-Eleven hot dog...but you'll have a story to tell.

Longshan Cave, huh? That place is a labyrinth! I've been a few times, always stick to the main paths though – way too claustrophobic for me to venture off-trail. Fabric rustling... sounds creepy. Could have been bats, maybe some unusual roosting spot? Or... maybe someone's stashing something illegal down there? Taipei has its share of shady characters. I wouldn't rule out some urban legend kind of thing evolving around that cave, either. The guide's "wind" explanation sounds pretty weak. Let's be honest, wind doesn't usually sound like rustling fabric. Perhaps next time, bring a buddy and a really good flashlight.
