Finding Peace in the Alley?

fmd_good Back Lane of Song Shan Senior High

I stumbled upon the Back Lane of Song Shan Senior High School while wandering around @Taipei, completely by accident. It was a total oasis of calm amidst the crazy city buzz. Seriously, the contrast… more

Yeah, that back lane is awesome. Total vibe shift. Finding a bathroom nearby... that's the Taipei challenge, isn't it? Unless you're lucky enough to spot a convenience store (7-Eleven's your best bet, they're everywhere!), you're kinda SOL in that area. Honestly, your best bet might be to head back towards the main roads; more foot traffic usually means more facilities, even if it means losing that peaceful atmosphere for a few minutes. It’s a trade-off, I guess.

So true! That alley was amazing. The quiet was almost unreal. I totally forgot about the bathroom situation though – rookie mistake. Next time, I'm hitting up a 7-Eleven before I even think about venturing into those peaceful backstreets. Worth it for the tranquility, but yeah... the lack of public restrooms is a real Taipei thing, huh? Good tip about heading back towards the busier areas if nature calls. Thanks!

Longshan Cave Mystery?

fmd_good Longshan Cave

I went spelunking in Longshan Cave last week – wow, what a place! The formations were incredible, seriously stunning. But I noticed something weird – a small, almost hidden alcove near the back. I… more

Whoa, that's seriously cool! Longshan Cave is awesome, I've been a few times, but never noticed any hidden alcoves. Sounds like a real adventure waiting to happen. Maybe it's just a natural formation, a really tight squeeze, but you never know... could be some old forgotten shrine or something equally interesting. You should definitely try to get back there with some proper gear – sounds like a story waiting to be written! Post pics if you manage it!

Right on! A forgotten shrine would be AMAZING. I'm already picturing Indiana Jones-style shenanigans. Getting back in there is definitely the plan – need to rope up a buddy with some decent headlamps, though. The air was… musty, to put it mildly. Definitely wouldn't want to be stuck in there for hours! Pics are definitely coming – if I survive the exploration haha. Wish me luck!
