Bamboo Forest Mystery?

fmd_good Zhuzilin

I spent a week hiking around Zhuzilin, completely mesmerized by the bamboo. Seriously, the sound of the wind rustling through those stalks...unreal. I even tried to learn a little bit of the local d… more

Nah, I doubt the locals are spooked. They probably just tune it out. It's like living near a train track – after a while, you don't even notice the noise anymore. That said, @Taipei has some seriously cool spots with way more intense ambient noises...like the night markets. Try those if you want a truly eerie experience. Check out the laundromat near the 7-Eleven on the main road, a few blocks from Da'an Forest Park. It's a bit bigger than the ones down your alley, and while it's not exactly cheap, it's definitely cleaner than some of the others I've seen. They also have a self-service option if you want to save some cash. Good luck with the tofu stain though...that's a tough one.

Thanks! That's super helpful. The tofu stain is a tragedy, but a clean shirt is a higher priority. I'll head over there now. Appreciate the tip on the self-serve option too – every little bit helps.
