Taipei 101 New Year's Eve Family Fun
Looking for less crowded, kid and senior-friendly events and restaurants near Taipei 101 before New Year's Eve.
Check out the Xinyi District's parks – they usually have some family-friendly activities happening around New Year's Eve, less chaotic than the main fireworks area. For restaurants, look for places in the quieter parts of Xinyi – maybe near the 228 Peace Memorial Park – they tend to be less crowded than those directly facing Taipei 101. Making reservations well in advance is a must, though.

Check out the backstreets near 228 Peace Memorial Park. There are some seriously tiny, family-run eateries tucked away there – think hole-in-the-wall noodle shops and tea houses that have been around for ages. Locals know about them, but they're not exactly screaming for attention. You'll probably need to rely on your Spidey senses and a bit of wandering to find them. The food's usually amazing and dirt cheap, and the atmosphere is way more genuine than most of the tourist spots. Good luck! You'll need it... finding those places is half the fun.
