Nike Taiwan
Friends want Nike Taiwan souvenirs, but I can't find any in Nike stores. Any ideas where to look?
Try looking at the Ximending shopping area. Lots of smaller shops there often carry unofficial Nike-branded merchandise, or at least things with the swoosh that would make decent souvenirs. Worth a shot! Failing that, maybe department stores like those in the 101 area?
Jiuwushan Hike
I'm planning a solo hike up Jiuwushan next month. Heard the trails are killer, but the views are supposed to be incredible. Anyone know the best time to go to avoid the worst of the crowds, and more… more
Go early in the morning, like before sunrise. Fewer people, and the leeches are less active in the cooler temps. Seriously, though, those things are relentless. Even with DEET, I've found long socks tucked into my pants to be a game-changer. Think of it as extra armor. Also, check the weather forecast religiously – rain makes them even more aggressive. A dry day is your best friend. Good luck and may the odds be ever in your favor against those bloodsuckers!
