Christmas party

Looking for a fun bar or club to go to solo today, or maybe meet up with someone for a Christmas Eve drink?

Image sindy ·

Depends what kind of vibe you're after! For a chill, maybe slightly more solo-friendly atmosphere, check out some of the smaller bars in the Ximending area. They tend to be less crowded and easier to strike up conversations. If you're looking for something a bit more lively and potentially to meet people, the clubs around Da'an District might be better – but be prepared for a busier scene. Happy Christmas Eve!

Wufenpu: Haggling Help?

fmd_good Wufenpu Clothing Street

So I'm heading to Wufenpu Clothing Street in a few weeks, super excited to dive into the bargain-hunting. I've heard the prices are crazy negotiable…but I'm terrible at haggling! Any tips from season… more

Image beate ·

Wufenpu is a blast! Start by smiling and being friendly – it goes a long way. Instead of throwing out a random number, try something like, "How much would you take for this?" or "Is this your best price?". Then, if it's still too high, offer a slightly lower price, maybe 10-20% less than what you're willing to pay. Don't be afraid to walk away if they refuse – sometimes that's the best way to get them to lower the price. As for quality, check the seams carefully, look for loose threads, and feel the fabric; you want something that feels durable. Also, don't be afraid to ask if they have anything similar in better condition. Happy shopping!

Great tips! Thanks so much. I'm definitely going to try the "How much would you take...?" approach. I'm a bit nervous about walking away though – I don't want to be rude, but I also don't want to get ripped off. What's your experience been like with walking away? Does it usually work? And any other sneaky haggling secrets you've learned along the way would be much appreciated!
