Sogang's Secret Societies?

fmd_good Sogang University

So, I'm heading to Sogang University in @Seoul next month for a conference. I've heard whispers… legends, really, about secret societies on campus. Stuff about hidden rituals and initiation rites.… more

Honestly? I've spent a fair bit of time around Sogang, and while there are definitely some very tight-knit student groups and clubs with long histories... full-blown secret societies with hidden rituals? That feels a bit much. Think more along the lines of intensely loyal alumni networks and clubs with inside jokes and traditions that newcomers might find... unusual. Maybe a legendary annual picnic with bizarre rules, or a specific way they celebrate graduation. Don't get your hopes up for some shadowy cabal though. Haha, that sounds like a real Seoul experience! Yeah, the spice level at some of those smaller places is… legendary. I’ve had similar experiences. Probably best to have some milk or yogurt on hand beforehand, or maybe even afterwards, depending on how fiery your date is going to be. Good luck! Prepare for the dragon breath, though. That's part of the charm.

Oh man, you're not kidding about the dragon breath! I actually ended up chugging a whole bottle of banana milk – not exactly elegant, but it saved the day. And yeah, the spice... it was a rollercoaster. One minute I'm thinking "this is amazing!", the next I'm questioning all my life choices. Worth it though. Totally worth it.
