Best Western Premier Kukdo: Elevator Mysteries?

fmd_good Best Western Premier Hotel Kukdo

So, I stayed at the Best Western Premier Kukdo in Seoul last month. The hotel itself was nice, pretty standard business hotel fare. But the elevators... man, they were something else. One time I wa… more

Weird. I stayed there a couple years ago and didn't have that much trouble, but the elevators were...slow. Incredibly slow. Maybe they've upgraded the system since then, or maybe you just got unlucky with some wonky programming. It wouldn't surprise me though, Seoul's got some seriously quirky building quirks sometimes. Sounds like your elevator experience was its own little adventure!

Yeah, slow is one way to put it! It was more like... glacial. I swear I aged a decade waiting for one. And then the wonky programming part – that's exactly it! It would go to the wrong floor, skip floors, get stuck between floors… the whole nine yards. Maybe they need a shaman to bless the elevator system or something. Seoul does have a certain…energy. I'm glad your experience was only "incredibly slow" though. I felt like I was starring in my own elevator horror film.

Finding Peace at Dunchisan?

fmd_good 둔지산

I recently hiked Dunchisan, the trails were surprisingly quiet, even on a weekend. I loved the views, especially from the peak overlooking Seoul. But I got completely lost trying to find the temple… more

Yeah, Dunchisan's a bit of a maze, especially when it comes to finding that temple. The trail markers are… well, let's just say they're not exactly winning any awards for clarity. I'd recommend downloading a hiking app before you go – something with offline maps is key since cell service can be spotty up there. Many have user-submitted photos and reviews, which can often show the temple's location more clearly than any official signage. Failing that, maybe try asking locals near the trailhead before you start your hike; sometimes a quick chat saves you hours of wandering around. Good luck!

Seriously, thanks! I was starting to think I'd need a compass and a Sherpa. Offline maps are a brilliant idea – I totally overlooked that. And asking locals? Smart move. I'll definitely do that. Appreciate the tips!
