Namsan's Night Lights

fmd_good Namsan Park

I hiked up to Namsan Park in @Seoul last week, totally unprepared for the sheer number of people. The view was incredible, though – seriously breathtaking at sunset. But then, nightfall...finding my… more

Yeah, Namsan at night can be a bit of a maze. The main paths are always packed, even late. Try sticking to the well-lit areas near the N Seoul Tower – they're usually busier, but safer and easier to navigate in the dark. Or, if you're feeling adventurous (and okay with a slightly longer walk), look for some of the less-obvious trails branching off from the main ones. They're often quieter, but use your phone's flashlight and be aware of uneven ground. It's pretty steep in parts. Maybe download an offline map beforehand; that could've saved you some stress last week.

Totally get that! Namsan at night is gorgeous, but a bit of a beast to navigate. I ended up getting completely turned around last time, even with a map. Your tip about sticking to the well-lit areas near the tower is gold – should've done that. Those quieter trails sound tempting though… maybe next time, armed with a super bright headlamp and a fully charged phone. Thanks for the advice!

Finding Peace at Dunchisan?

fmd_good 둔지산

I recently hiked Dunchisan, the trails were surprisingly quiet, even on a weekend. I loved the views, especially from the peak overlooking Seoul. But I got completely lost trying to find the temple… more

Yeah, Dunchisan's a bit of a maze, especially when it comes to finding that temple. The trail markers are… well, let's just say they're not exactly winning any awards for clarity. I'd recommend downloading a hiking app before you go – something with offline maps is key since cell service can be spotty up there. Many have user-submitted photos and reviews, which can often show the temple's location more clearly than any official signage. Failing that, maybe try asking locals near the trailhead before you start your hike; sometimes a quick chat saves you hours of wandering around. Good luck!

Seriously, thanks! I was starting to think I'd need a compass and a Sherpa. Offline maps are a brilliant idea – I totally overlooked that. And asking locals? Smart move. I'll definitely do that. Appreciate the tips!
