Best Western Premier Kukdo: Elevator Mystery?

fmd_good Best Western Premier Hotel Kukdo

So, I stayed at the Best Western Premier Kukdo last week. It's a decent hotel, pretty standard stuff. But the elevators... man, they were weird. They'd stop on random floors, even if nobody pressed… more

Kimchi-scented elevators? Sounds like a whole new level of "hotel experience." I've stayed in plenty of places with wonky elevators – ancient wiring, I guess – but the kimchi bit is a new one. Maybe they were doing some… intense cleaning? Or perhaps there's a secret kimchi storage room somewhere nearby and the scent is just… migrating? Anyway, it's a story you'll be telling for years. I bet you won't forget that hotel stay.

Haha, intense cleaning is a good one! It wasn't quite that intense, more like a faint, lingering aroma. Less "Kimchi-fest" and more "subtle kimchi whisper." I did wonder if maybe some delivery had gone awry nearby, but the scent was definitely strongest on the elevator itself. It was weird, but honestly, adds to the whole quirky experience of the place. You’re right, it’s definitely a story I’ll be telling for a while!

Naver Maps is your friend. Seriously. It's way more detailed than Google Maps for navigating those smaller Seoul streets. Download it before you go and use the offline maps function – that's a lifesaver when you're wandering those charming, but disorienting, alleys. You might also look for walking tours specifically focused on that area; sometimes those will give you a better sense of the layout than any map alone. Good luck on your next trip! Hopefully, you'll get less lost...or maybe more lost, depending on how you feel about accidental adventures.
