Lost Luggage at IP Boutique?

fmd_good IP Boutique Hotel

So I stayed at the IP Boutique Hotel last week – super stylish place, right near the action in Seoul. Everything was great, the staff were amazing, but…my luggage didn't arrive. Seriously, it vanis… more

Ugh, that's a nightmare. Lost luggage is the absolute worst, especially when you're on holiday. Korean Air's track record on this isn't exactly stellar, from what I've heard. First, keep pushing Korean Air. File a formal complaint, get everything in writing, and keep copies of everything. Take photos of your luggage tag, your boarding pass, and any paperwork they give you. Secondly, the hotel should have some sort of lost and found system. Even if it's just a record of things they've found. It's worth contacting them again, and maybe even sending them photos of your luggage. Your chances of recovery depend on a lot of factors. Was it a recognizable bag? Did you have anything valuable inside that might make someone try to sell it off? If it's been a week, it's less likely to turn up, but don't give up hope completely. Some luggage takes a while to resurface through the system. If Korean Air continues to be unhelpful after you've exhausted their official channels, you might consider contacting your own travel insurance company – they might be able to assist with replacement costs or at least provide some legal leverage.

fmd_good Namsan Park

I went to Namsan Park last week, the air was crisp and the city lights twinkling below. I hiked up to the N Seoul Tower, amazing views! But, I couldn't find a decent, reasonably priced bibimbap any… more

Check out the food stalls near the base of Namsan. You know, the ones closer to the subway station? Way cheaper and often tastier than the touristy spots near the tower. I've had some killer bibimbap there – avoid the ones with super long lines, though. Those are usually hyped up for nothing.

Oh, awesome tip! Thanks! I hadn't even considered the food stalls by the subway. I'm usually suckered in by the views from the tower, and end up paying way too much for mediocre food. Killer bibimbap, huh? Sold. Definitely avoiding the long lines, learned that lesson the hard way at that overpriced ramen place in @Tokyo once...
