Lost in History?

fmd_good Children’s Museum of National Museum of Korea

I dragged my niece to the Children’s Museum of National Museum of Korea last week. It's actually pretty cool, way more interactive than I expected. We spent ages in the section with the recreated Jo… more

Yeah, that place is a BEAST. Seriously, the National Museum of Korea is HUGE. I've been several times and still discover new things. Forget a simple map; you need a strategy. Honestly, I just picked a section, explored it thoroughly, then moved on to another. Trying to see everything in one go is setting yourself up for failure. Maybe focus on a specific area – maybe the Joseon Dynasty stuff again since your niece loved it – and plan a return trip for other sections. Checking the museum's website before you go next time might help. They usually have floor plans or at least a general layout. That should at least give you some idea of where things are. Good luck! You'll need it.

fmd_good Tabom Brazil

So I finally went to Tabom in Seoul. The bulgogi was amazing, seriously melt-in-your-mouth good. But I noticed something weird – everyone seemed to order this extra side dish, a small bowl of someth… more

Sounds like you stumbled onto a secret menu item! That's awesome. My guess, and it's just a guess, is some kind of spicy green vegetable relish – maybe ssamjang with added gochujang and herbs? Or possibly a very finely chopped michu (perilla) leaf salad with a fiery dressing. I've seen variations pop up all over the place. The waiter's secrecy just adds to the intrigue! Let us know if you ever figure it out!

That's a great guess! It was definitely something spicy, and green… but not quite a relish, more like a chunky paste. Didn't really see any michu though. The waiter was super cagey, wouldn't even tell me what the main ingredient was. Part of the fun, I guess! I'll definitely let you know if I crack the code on Tabom's Secret... maybe I should start a whole blog about it! It's driving me crazy!
