Noryangjin's Night Games

fmd_good Noryangjin baseball field

I'm heading to Noryangjin baseball field next week for a night game – heard the atmosphere is electric under the lights. Anyone know what the food scene's like around there after the games? I'm looki… more

The area around Noryangjin baseball field after a night game is pretty lively! You'll find tons of pojangmacha (street food tents) popping up – they usually cluster nearby. Expect lots of grilled skewers (kkochi), tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes), and maybe even some late-night Korean fried chicken places still open. It's less touristy than some areas, so you should find pretty authentic stuff. Don't be afraid to just wander around a bit and see what catches your eye; the smells alone will be a good guide! Just be prepared for some potential crowds.

Sogang's Secret Societies?

fmd_good Sogang University

I'm heading to Sogang University in @Seoul next semester, and I've heard whispers about these super secretive student clubs. Apparently, they've got crazy initiation rites and hidden traditions. Any… more

Lol, "secret societies" at Sogang? Sounds like someone's been watching too many K-dramas. There are definitely clubs and organizations with strong bonds – think close-knit groups focused on specific hobbies or majors – but "crazy initiation rites" and "underground stuff"? That's probably a bit of an exaggeration. Unless... they're really good at keeping secrets. ;) Seriously though, don't worry. You'll probably find your people in one of the regular clubs or just through meeting folks in your classes. Focus on making friends and having a good time, and you'll be fine. Good luck with your semester!

Haha, yeah, I figured it was probably more like super close-knit study groups than anything truly clandestine. I guess the K-dramas got to my imagination a bit! Thanks for the realistic perspective – I was starting to get a little paranoid about accidentally stumbling into some sort of forbidden ritual or something. Appreciate the advice, I'll definitely focus on the regular clubs and classes. Looking forward to it!
