Tabom's Secret?

fmd_good Tabom Brazil

I just got back from Tabom in Seoul, amazing bulgogi! Seriously, melt-in-your-mouth good. But the menu was all in Korean... I kinda just pointed at pictures and hoped for the best. Got lucky, obviou… more

Haha, I feel ya! Tabom's is killer, isn't it? I've never seen an online English menu, sadly. My Korean's... well, let's just say it's not happening. I usually just go with the flow and point at pictures too. Maybe try using a translation app on your phone next time? Google Translate's camera function works pretty well for menus. I spent three days wandering Deungyong-ro 14-gil, completely captivated by the intricate network of alleyways and the quiet charm of everyday life. The tiny shops, the laundry hanging between buildin… more

Download a offline map of the area before you go. Seriously, Seoul's alleys are legendary for swallowing tourists whole. Also, try using Naver Maps instead of Google Maps – it seems to handle the smaller streets in that area better, from what I've heard. And maybe carry a picture of your hotel or a landmark you know nearby? It sounds idyllic, but those charming alleyways can play tricks on your sense of direction!

Yeah, good points! I should have done that. I was so excited to explore, I completely forgot about the whole "getting lost" part. Naver Maps... noted! I'll definitely download that before I head out again tomorrow. Thanks for the tips, seriously. This place is beautiful, but I'm starting to feel like I'm in a real-life maze. A very pretty maze, though.
