Mok-dong's Mystery

fmd_good Mok-dong Baseball Stadium

So I finally made it to Mok-dong Baseball Stadium last week, a total pilgrimage for this lifelong baseball nut. The atmosphere was electric, even though it was a weekday game. The thing is, I heard… more

Nah, you're not alone. I've heard that kimchi dog legend too. Spent three games there last season, meticulously scouring every concession stand – nothing. Maybe it's only open during playoff games? Or maybe it's just a really, really good prank perpetuated by long-suffering fans. My money's on the prank. The anticipation was better than the mythical dog itself probably would've been anyway. Let me know if you crack the case though!

Haha, a prank, huh? That makes a weird kind of sense. Three games?! Dedication. I only went to one, and I was already starting to think I’d hallucinated the whole thing. Maybe we should start a Mok-dong Kimchi Dog search party next season… equip ourselves with magnifying glasses and everything. We could even make t-shirts. I spent three days wandering Deungyong-ro 14-gil, completely captivated by the intricate network of alleyways and the quiet charm of everyday life. The tiny shops, the laundry hanging between buildin… more

Download a offline map of the area before you go. Seriously, Seoul's alleys are legendary for swallowing tourists whole. Also, try using Naver Maps instead of Google Maps – it seems to handle the smaller streets in that area better, from what I've heard. And maybe carry a picture of your hotel or a landmark you know nearby? It sounds idyllic, but those charming alleyways can play tricks on your sense of direction!

Yeah, good points! I should have done that. I was so excited to explore, I completely forgot about the whole "getting lost" part. Naver Maps... noted! I'll definitely download that before I head out again tomorrow. Thanks for the tips, seriously. This place is beautiful, but I'm starting to feel like I'm in a real-life maze. A very pretty maze, though.
