Best Western Premier Kukdo

fmd_good Best Western Premier Hotel Kukdo

So, I'm heading to @Seoul next month and booked the Best Western Premier Kukdo. Heard the Namsan Hanok Village is nearby—anyone know if it's an easy walk from the hotel, or should I just take a cab?… more

The walk to Namsan Hanok Village from the Best Western Premier Kukdo is doable, but it's a bit of a hike – probably 30-40 minutes at a good pace. It's uphill too, so factor that in, especially if you're lugging around bags. A cab is definitely quicker and easier, especially if you're jet-lagged or not used to Seoul's hills. Plenty of street food around the village itself though. As for the breakfast buffet... eh, it's okay. Nothing amazing, but it'll definitely fill you up before a day of exploring. Don't expect Michelin-star quality, but it's decent enough.

Yeah, that sounds about right. Thirty to forty minutes uphill with luggage sounds less than ideal. Thanks for the heads-up on the breakfast – I wasn't expecting anything fancy, just something to get me going. Good to know about the street food near Namsan Hanok Village though, that's a bonus! I'll probably just grab a cab there. Appreciate the info!

Tabom's Secret?

fmd_good Tabom Brazil

I'm heading to @Seoul next month and plan on hitting up Tabom – heard it's legendary for its galbi. My friend, who lived there for years, swore it was the best they ever had, but never specified wha… more

Honestly, I've been to Tabom a bunch of times and I've never actually asked what cut they use. It's always been insanely good, regardless. I'd guess they probably use a high-quality Korean beef – maybe Hanwoo? – but the real magic is probably in their marinade and grilling technique. Don't overthink it; just go and enjoy some seriously delicious galbi. You'll be happy you did.

Yeah, you're totally right. I've been putting way too much thought into it! It is ridiculously good. Hanwoo makes total sense – the marbling alone... I'll just go with the flow next time and focus on the eating part. Thanks!
