IP Boutique Hotel Mystery?

fmd_good IP Boutique Hotel

So I stayed at the IP Boutique Hotel last week – amazing place, seriously stylish. The staff were super friendly, the breakfast buffet was to die for, but… I found this weird, little, antique music b… more

That's wild! A creepy antique music box? In Seoul, no less. I've stayed in plenty of hotels – never anything like that. Maybe it's just a quirky thing one of the owners collected and accidentally left behind? Or...maybe it is some kind of local legend thing. You should try asking on a Korean forum or something; you might get a better response there than from here. Seriously though, I'd be creeped out too. Did you, like, check if it was worth anything? Noryangjin Fish Market Woes?

fmd_good Noryangjin-ro

I'm heading to @Seoul next month and plan on hitting up the Noryangjin Fish Market – heard it's insane. My question is: how do you navigate the sheer volume of vendors and the price negotiations with… more

It's definitely intense! Videos don't do it justice. My advice? Go with a friend if possible – two heads are better at navigating the chaos and haggling. Don't be afraid to walk away from a vendor if the price feels wrong; there are tons of options. Point at what you want, use your translator app for basic phrases (like "how much?" and "too expensive"), and don't be shy about asking to see the fish up close – check for freshness. Also, remember they’re used to tourists. They won't be offended by you using an app; most will appreciate it saves time. Lastly, consider eating your haul at one of the restaurants within the market – they'll cook it for you for a small fee, often a better deal than trying to prep it yourself. You'll get a more authentic experience that way, too. Good luck! It's a memorable experience, even if slightly stressful.

Totally agree! It was way more overwhelming than I expected, even with all the videos I watched beforehand. The haggling was… a learning experience, to say the least. I should of brought a friend; I ended up just pointing and nodding a lot. Got some amazing seafood though, and the restaurant prep was a lifesaver. Definitely worth it for the experience, even if my heart rate was through the roof the whole time!
