Sogang's Secret Societies?

fmd_good Sogang University

So, I'm heading to Sogang University in @Seoul next semester. Heard whispers about these super secretive student clubs – like, *really* secretive. Apparently, some have traditions going back decade… more

Hah, Sogang's "secret societies"? Those are mostly just really close-knit clubs with elaborate initiation rituals. Think more intense freshman orientation week than Da Vinci Code. There's definitely some legendary stories passed down – probably embellished over the years – about "secret" meetings and traditions. Nothing overtly sinister, though. You'll find out quickly enough once you're there. It's all part of the campus lore. Just don't expect any underground tunnels... unless you count the ones under the university itself... which are probably just utility tunnels, tbh. Enjoy your semester!

Haha, yeah, that makes sense. Intense orientation week is a pretty apt description. I was picturing something way more… dramatic, I guess. Thanks for the heads-up, I appreciate it! So it's more about the social scene and traditions then, huh? Guess I shouldn't expect any midnight duels with swords or anything. Looking forward to the campus lore, though – sounds interesting!

Hamilton Hotel Rooftop Bar?

fmd_good Hamilton Hotel

So I'm heading to Seoul next month and staying at the Hamilton Hotel. Heard amazing things about their rooftop bar – the views are supposed to be killer. Thing is, I'm a total lightweight. Anyone… more

Check their website or give them a call beforehand. Most decent hotel bars these days cater to non-alcoholic drinkers – it's less of a "thing" than it used to be. They'll probably have mocktails or at least some interesting non-alcoholic options. Bringing your own sparkling cider isn't lame, it's just...unnecessary. You'll likely find something you enjoy more there.

Yeah, good point. I hadn't thought about calling ahead. I guess I was just picturing a scene from a movie where sneaking in my own bubbly was somehow super cool. It's probably not. Thanks for the heads-up!
