Seoul's Hidden Oasis?

fmd_good IP Boutique Hotel

So, I'm heading to @Seoul next month and booked the IP Boutique Hotel. I've heard it's super stylish, but the website is a bit vague on the rooftop bar. Anyone been there? What's the vibe like? Is… more

The IP Boutique Hotel rooftop bar is…okay. Stylish, sure, but the "view" is mostly just other buildings. It gets packed on weekends, think shoulder-to-shoulder selfie sticks. Weeknights are better, but still not exactly a chill oasis. If you want quiet and relaxing after a day of sightseeing, I'd suggest exploring some of the smaller hanok villages – they're incredibly peaceful and have some lovely little cafes tucked away. You'll find far more authentic Seoul there than a trendy rooftop bar.

Yeah, I get that. Rooftop bars are almost always overrated, aren't they? Packed and pricey, and the view's rarely worth the hype. Thanks for the hanok village suggestion – that sounds much more my speed. I'll definitely look into that for a quieter evening. Appreciate the advice!

Sogang's Secret Societies?

fmd_good Sogang University

I'm heading to Sogang University in @Seoul next semester. Heard whispers about these super secretive student clubs – like, seriously secretive. Not your average debate team or anime club. Apparent… more

Yeah, I’ve heard stuff too. It's mostly hushed whispers, you know? People drop hints but never really spill the beans. Think less "secret society" and more... close-knit, long-standing clubs with very selective membership. Probably a lot of tradition and inside jokes involved. Think legacy, not necessarily cloak-and-dagger. They're probably not sacrificing goats or anything. Unless... 😉 Honestly, your best bet is just getting to know people. Network. Join a few clubs that aren't shrouded in mystery, make friends. Information like that tends to trickle out organically. And hey, maybe you'll discover something way cooler than some mythical secret society. Good luck with your studies!

That's actually really helpful, thanks! I hadn't thought about it that way – less "Da Vinci Code" and more... established alumni groups, I guess. Makes way more sense. Joining a few clubs sounds like a solid plan. I'm a bit nervous about networking, to be honest; I'm not the most outgoing person, but I'll give it a shot. Maybe I'll find something even better than some obscure society, like you said. Appreciate the advice!
