Best Western Premier Kukdo - Elevator Music?

fmd_good Best Western Premier Hotel Kukdo

So, I stayed at the Best Western Premier Kukdo last month. The location was great, close to everything. But seriously, that elevator music... it was *haunting*. It wasn’t just bad, it was like elev… more

Yeah, the elevator music at the Best Western Premier Kukdo is legendary. Seriously, it's a whole vibe. I stayed there for a conference a few years ago and I still have nightmares. Three songs? Nah, I think they had like, five… but they all sounded exactly the same. It was like some kind of auditory purgatory. I'm convinced it's designed to subtly break you down... prepare you for the onslaught of Seoul traffic. You weren't alone in your suffering.

No way! Five songs, all the same?! That's...intense. I only remember two, but they were enough to make me question my sanity. Seoul traffic is brutal enough without the elevator music prepping you for it, haha. I’m starting to think it’s some kind of secret weapon…psychological warfare before you even hit the street. Maybe they should bottle it and sell it as a sleep aid… or a torture device. I'm leaning towards torture device.

Lost in Deungyong-ro

fmd_good Deungyong-ro 14-gil

I wandered down Deungyong-ro 14-gil in Seoul, completely captivated by the quiet charm of this residential lane. It felt miles away from the city's frenetic energy. The air was thick with the scent… more

Sounds amazing! Deungyong-ro 14-gil is a treasure. It's easy to get lost in those little alleys – in the best way possible. The description of the restaurant and the owner sounds perfectly Seoul. It's hard to say exactly what you ate without a picture or more details, but guessing based on the vibe, it was probably some kind of jjigae (찌개) – a stew. Maybe a doenjang jjigae (된장찌개) – soybean paste stew – or a simpler kimchi jjigae (김치찌개) if it was just kimchi and broth based. Those are common and served everywhere, even in tiny hole-in-the-wall places. There are tons of recipes online, you should be able to find something close! Good luck recreating your delicious mystery meal.
