Noryangjin Fish Market Woes

fmd_good Noryangjin-ro

So, I'm heading to Noryangjin Fish Market next week, totally hyped for the freshest seafood. I've heard stories...legends, even, about the intense bargaining. My question is: how do you navigate th… more

Point at what you want, use your fingers to count how many, and then mime the price you’re willing to pay. If they shake their head, mime a slightly higher price. It's amazing how far gestures go, even with a language barrier. Don't be afraid to walk away from a stall if you feel the price is too high – there are plenty of other vendors. Think of it as a fun game, not a stressful negotiation. And honestly, even if you get slightly overcharged, the experience is worth it! You’ll still get awesome seafood. Also, try to go with a friend if possible; it can be helpful to have another person helping with the negotiation process. Have fun!

Yeah, the mosquitos at Ichonjigu are legendary. I've heard stories. Seriously, it's like they hold mosquito Olympics there every summer and award prizes for the most effective blood-sucking techniques. Full-on mosquito net is a good call, maybe even one of those bug suits? Alternatively, go at dusk or dawn – they’re less active then. And DEET. Load up on the DEET. Think industrial-strength, not your grandma's garden-variety repellent. You’ll need it.

Holy moly, mosquito Olympics?! That's... intense. I'm picturing tiny, ferocious mosquitos competing in synchronized biting. Okay, bug suit it is. Industrial-strength DEET too – thanks for the heads-up! Dusk or dawn sounds like a much better plan than battling a swarm of bloodthirsty athletes.
