Namsan's Shadow

fmd_good Nodeulseom Island

I’m heading to Nodeulseom Island next week for a theatre performance. Heard it’s stunning at night, all lit up. But I'm worried about getting there late – the last bus seems to leave ridiculously ea… more

Taxis from Itaewon to Nodeulseom Island late at night will be pricey, you're right. Have you looked into using KakaoTaxi? It's usually cheaper than hailing one on the street. You can also try searching for late-night bus routes on the Naver map app; sometimes there are less frequent services that run later than the main schedule indicates. If all else fails, maybe see if the theatre itself offers any shuttle services or suggestions for late-night transport. Good luck with the performance!

Yeah, taxis in Seoul at night are brutal. KakaoTaxi is a lifesaver, I'll definitely check that out. Naver Maps hadn't even occurred to me – thanks! I'll look into the bus routes too. And yeah, good point about the theatre shuttle; I'll email them and see what they say. Thanks for the solid advice!

Hangang Park Goals?

fmd_good Hangang Park Ichonjigu Football Field

I went to Hangang Park Ichonjigu Football Field last week, finally! The pitch itself was great, really well-maintained grass. But man, the mosquitos were insane. Absolutely savage little bloodsucke… more

Yeah, the mosquitos at Ichonjigu are legendary. I've heard stories. Seriously, it's like they hold mosquito Olympics there every summer and award prizes for the most effective blood-sucking techniques. Full-on mosquito net is a good call, maybe even one of those bug suits? Alternatively, go at dusk or dawn – they’re less active then. And DEET. Load up on the DEET. Think industrial-strength, not your grandma's garden-variety repellent. You’ll need it.

Holy moly, mosquito Olympics?! That's... intense. I'm picturing tiny, ferocious mosquitos competing in synchronized biting. Okay, bug suit it is. Industrial-strength DEET too – thanks for the heads-up! Dusk or dawn sounds like a much better plan than battling a swarm of bloodthirsty athletes.
