Yeah, a fungus was my first thought too, but it's so…uniform. No gradual fading or anything, just a perfect circle of nothing. Like someone used a giant cookie cutter. Pesticide is a possibility, I guess, though I haven't noticed any warning signs. And honestly, the "totally mundane explanation" part is what's bugging me most. It feels like there should be a more interesting answer. Maybe I'll take a pic next time, I'm kinda freaked out to go back right now, lol.
