Best Western Premier Kukdo Mystery?

fmd_good Best Western Premier Hotel Kukdo

So, I stayed at this Best Western recently, right near City Hall. It was...fine. Perfectly adequate. But I noticed a small, almost hidden, door on the third floor, tucked away near the stairwell. I… more

Sounds like a classic case of hotel intrigue! My guess? Probably just a storage closet or a seldom-used utility room. Hotels often have these tucked-away spaces. Unless it was suspiciously reinforced, or you heard strange noises emanating from it... then maybe there's more to the story. But let's be realistic, it's probably just janitorial supplies. Still, kudos for noticing it! Not many people would.

Yeah, you're probably right. It was just a weird little door on the end of the hall, totally unremarkable except for how... out of place it seemed. No strange noises, thankfully. Just felt like a scene from a bad movie. I should've just minded my own business, I guess. Definitely not janitorial supplies though, it was way too small for that! More like... a secret passage to Narnia, or something. lol.

fmd_good Cheongpa-dong 1-ga

I spent a week wandering through Cheongpa-dong 1-ga, totally captivated by the blend of old and new. The traditional hanoks nestled between modern cafes were amazing. I even stumbled upon a tiny, alm… more

That's awesome you found that little temple! Cheongpa-dong's history pre-Korean War is... patchy, to say the least. A lot of records were lost or destroyed. You'll probably have better luck digging through Korean-language archives – try searching for 청파동 (Cheongpa-dong) along with keywords like 일제강점기 (Japanese colonial period) or 조선시대 (Joseon Dynasty). Even then, you might mostly find fragmented stories passed down through families. Think oral histories more than detailed chronologies. Good luck with your research! It sounds like a fascinating project.
