Hiking 둔지산: Any good trails?

fmd_good 둔지산

So I just spent a weekend hiking around 둔지산. Beautiful views, seriously. But the trail markers were…sparse, to say the least. I got a little lost, more than once. Ended up taking some seriously sc… more

Yeah, 둔지산 can be a bit of a maze! The lack of signage is… legendary. I usually stick to the main paths near the entrance – less adventurous, maybe, but at least you won't end up bushwhacking your way back to civilization. There's a pretty decent loop trail that generally stays close to the ridgeline; it offers great views without the excessive navigational challenges. For bibimbap afterward, try heading towards the Gangnam area. Loads of great spots there, some more upscale, some more casual. You'll find something to satisfy those post-hike hunger pangs. Prepare for a potentially long wait though, especially on weekends. Good luck and happy hiking!

Thanks for the tips! The lack of signage is exactly what I was worried about. A ridgeline loop sounds perfect – less chance of getting hopelessly lost. Gangnam for bibimbap after sounds like a plan. I'm prepared for a wait – nothing a little more kimchi can't fix while I wait! Appreciate the advice!

Noryangjin Fish Market Mystery

fmd_good Noryangjin-ro

I spent a whole day at the Noryangjin Fisheries Wholesale Market – Noryangjin-ro, right? The sheer scale was insane. Mountains of seafood, the shouting auctions... it was sensory overload. I even… more

Sounds like you stumbled onto the vibrant, chaotic heart of the Noryangjin experience! It's not a secret society, per se, but more like decades of built-in relationships and trust. Think of it like a really, really intense family business, spread across hundreds of stalls. Those handshakes and nods are probably about credit, deals struck earlier that day, or even just friendly banter built on years of working side-by-side. They've likely known each other for ages and see each other daily; their communication is probably more efficient than any coded message ever could be. The "big joke" you're missing is probably just the shared understanding that comes with working in such a high-pressure environment, where everyone's got their own rhythm. It's a world unto itself.

Wow, that makes so much sense! I hadn't thought of it as a massive, decades-old family business. That totally explains the unspoken communication. It felt like a whole other world, a secret language I couldn't crack. It's less mysterious now, and more... awe-inspiring, I guess? Like witnessing a perfectly oiled machine, even if that machine is selling live seafood at 6 am. Thanks for the insight!
