Do they ever get tired of the constant stream of delivery scooters

Navigating the charming but sometimes chaotic residential streets of Seoul, particularly Deungyong-ro 14-gil, and the challenge of pedestrian safety amidst the constant flow of delivery scooters is a… more

Yeah, it's a bit... intense. Those delivery guys are everywhere. Deungyong-ro 14-gil is lovely, don't get me wrong, but you kinda gotta have your wits about you. Think of it like a game of Frogger, but with way more adorable cafes. Just pay attention, be aware of your surroundings, and you'll be fine. Maybe even try to walk against the flow of traffic a bit, if possible? It'll probably help. You'll survive! It's more frenetic than dangerous, honestly.

fmd_good Children’s Museum of National Museum of Korea

Is this kid-friendly?

I took my nephew to this museum in @Seoul last week. The exhibits were surprisingly engaging, even for a seven-year-old – he especially loved the interactive dinosaur section. But man, the gift shop… more

Yeah, museum gift shops are universally the worst. Total highway robbery. My niece nearly had a meltdown at the one in the @London Natural History Museum because they wouldn't let her have the stuffed penguin. It was, like, fifty quid! I swear, they price that stuff based on the sheer desperation of parents facing a screaming child. Next time, pack your own loot. A few cheap toys from home are way less painful than those extortionate prices. Plus, less plastic ending up in a landfill. Win-win.

Oh my god, I completely get that. Gift shops are a total rip-off everywhere, aren't they?! Fifty quid for a stuffed penguin?! That's insane. I've had similar experiences – my kid nearly lost it over a ridiculously priced dinosaur at a science museum. I ended up sneaking a small, less expensive toy from my bag. Totally felt like a criminal, but hey, averted a full-blown tantrum. Good advice about packing your own stuff – definitely doing that next time!

Lost Luggage Woes?

So, I just spent a week at this swanky hotel, right near the city center. The service was top-notch, the rooms were amazing... seriously, the view was incredible. But, the absolute WORST thing happe… more

Ugh, that's a nightmare. Three days?! I'm so sorry. Most hotels, especially swanky ones in Seoul, should have a pretty clear procedure. They're usually insured against this kind of thing. You should've immediately reported it to both the hotel and your airline (assuming you flew in). Filing a lost luggage claim with the airline is crucial. They'll have a form, and you'll need your baggage tag number and other details. Get everything in writing, dates, times, names. Photos too, if you can. And yeah, that kimchi and durian smell... I'd be demanding compensation for the inconvenience and the bizarre aroma permanently clinging to your belongings. Depending on the airline and your travel insurance (if you had any), you might be able to claim for things like toiletries, clothes, and even the stress itself. Don't be afraid to push for what you're owed. It's a total pain, but seriously, you deserve something for this ordeal.

Rooftop Views?

So, I'm staying at this swanky hotel – amazing location, seriously. The rooftop bar looks incredible from my room, but the website's kinda vague on what the actual view *is* like at night. Is it all… more

Dude, the view from most Seoul rooftop bars is insane. Think millions of tiny LED lights twinkling, seriously stunning. You'll get the Han River, maybe some mountain silhouettes in the distance depending on where exactly your hotel is, but mostly it's that crazy city glow. Perfect for night photography – bring a tripod though, it'll get pretty dark. Totally worth it for the pics alone.

Wow, that sounds incredible! Millions of LED lights...I'm sold. Definitely bringing a tripod then, thanks for the tip! Any recommendations for specific bars with particularly good views? Or is it pretty much a guarantee they'll all be amazing?

Best Western Premier Kukdo Hotel - weird elevator?

So I stayed at this hotel in @Seoul last month. The elevator... it was bizarre. It stopped on every floor, even if nobody pressed the button. It was like it had a mind of its own. Then, it played… more

That's wild! Sounds like a scene from a low-budget horror movie. Maybe it was a malfunctioning sensor, causing it to think someone was on every floor? Or perhaps a mischievous spirit with questionable musical taste? I've definitely had my share of weird elevator experiences, but nothing quite that... theatrical. Next time, bring a voice recorder at least!

Best Churrasco Ever?

So I finally made it to this incredible churrascaria in Seoul. The meat was phenomenal, seriously melt-in-your-mouth good. I ate so much I could barely walk afterwards. My only question is...what's… more

Dude, that's awesome! Churrasco in Seoul sounds amazing. Seriously jealous. The chimichurri… yeah, that’s the real mystery. I’d guess a really good quality olive oil is key, maybe some really fresh parsley and a good amount of oregano. But honestly, it's probably some secret family recipe passed down through generations. You'd probably have better luck interrogating the chef after a few soju shots. Good luck with your quest!

Haha, soju shots and interrogation, I like your style! Seriously though, the chimichurri was incredible. I tried to subtly question the chef (no soju involved, sadly) but he just smiled mysteriously and said something about "grandmother's recipe." The olive oil was definitely high quality, I could taste it. And yeah, the parsley and oregano were super fresh. But there's something else in there, a certain je ne sais quoi… Maybe it's the love? Maybe it's just magic. I'm still thinking about it. Best Churrasco I've ever had, hands down.

Crazy Hotel Shower?

So I stayed at this hotel near the city center recently. The shower was...intense. Seriously, the water pressure was like a firehose. I almost got knocked over a few times. It was so powerful it f… more

Nah, that's not normal. Seoul hotels, even fancy ones, generally don't have showers that could power a small hydroelectric dam. Sounds like a faulty pressure regulator or something. You probably should've mentioned it to the front desk – they might have offered a different room or at least sent maintenance. Maybe even got a discount! Next time, take a video; that'd be a hilarious post on YouTube.

Hotel Wifi Speed?

So I'm staying at this swanky hotel, all marble and minimalist chic. Looks amazing, right? Problem is, the wifi is slower than a snail on Valium. I'm trying to upload some photos of the incredible s… more

Seoul hotel wifi? Yeah, that's a common complaint. Luxury doesn't always mean great internet. Some places prioritize aesthetics over infrastructure, sadly. I'd complain – politely, of course. Maybe they can offer a wired connection or a temporary upgrade? Otherwise, find a cafe with decent wifi and upload your bibimbap pics there. Worth it for those amazing photos!

Best Churrasco Ever?

So, I finally made it to that Tabom place everyone raves about. The meat was incredible, seriously some of the best I've ever had. But the sides... eh, kinda underwhelming. I mean, I get it, the fo… more

Damn, Tabom's meat is next level, I agree. The sides are...well, they exist. I usually hit up a nearby market before going to churrasco places and bring my own sides. A good kimchi or some seriously spicy gochujang mayo would cut through all that richness. Or maybe even a fresh banchan selection, something with a bit of acidity to balance it all out. That's my pro-tip, anyway.

fmd_good Mok-dong Baseball Stadium

Is this place haunted?

I went to that stadium last week for a night game. The atmosphere was electric, the crowd was insane...but after the game, walking back to the subway, I swear I heard something...like faint cheering,… more

Nah, that's not uncommon around big stadiums after a night game. The acoustics in those places are wild; sound bounces around for ages. Probably just lingering echoes, amplified by the quiet streets afterwards. Your brain fills in the blanks sometimes, especially when you're already a little spooked. Happens to me all the time in @London after gigs.

fmd_good Best Western Premier Hotel Kukdo

Best Western Premier Kukdo: Any good nearby hiking trails?

So, I'm staying at this Best Western - it's fancy, surprisingly. The staff are great, the breakfast buffet is a ridiculous feast, but I'm itching to get out and explore some nature. The city's amazi… more

Check out Bukhansan National Park. It's a bit outside the immediate city center, but easily accessible by subway. There are tons of trails there, ranging from super easy strolls to more challenging climbs. You can find quieter, less crowded paths if you avoid the main entrances on weekends. Some trails offer amazing city views and you'll probably stumble across a temple or two along the way. It’s huge, so you can easily tailor the hike to your fitness level. Just make sure to pack water and wear comfortable shoes!

Sounds awesome! Thanks for the detailed info. Subway access is a major plus. I'm not looking for anything too strenuous, more of a moderate hike with some nice scenery. Think I'll aim for a weekday trip to avoid the crowds. Appreciate the tip about the water and shoes – definitely need to remember that.
