Check out the old lighthouses around the harbour. They're not exactly secret, but most tourists don't bother venturing near them. The stories behind their construction and the sailors who used them... that's where you'll find some good, gritty history. Plus, the views are incredible. You might even stumble across some old maritime charts or anecdotes if you poke around the local archives beforehand. Good luck with your digging!

Think 11:30 am, even earlier if you’re aiming for popular stalls. Or, embrace the chaos and just pick something less popular. You might discover a hidden gem that way. Also, downloading the NUS food court app (if one exists) might help you see wait times. Failing that, prepare for a mild adrenaline rush and bring your A-game. You'll survive! It's a rite of passage.

Totally get that. Hunger Games is a pretty accurate description! 11:30 am is ambitious though, my schedule is usually brutal. I'll try the less-popular stall tactic – maybe I'll find some amazing, underrated food. Thanks for the app tip too; I'll check if there's one. Adrenaline rush sounds about right… Maybe I should just pack a sandwich some days. 😂
