Value Hotel Woes?

fmd_good Value Hotel

So, I'm planning a stay at the Value Hotel near the airport in Singapore. Heard mixed reviews – some say it's a great budget option, others complain about noise. My flight gets in late, and I'm worr… more

Late arrival at Changi? Yeah, the Value Hotel shuttle's a gamble after midnight. It's supposed to run, but frequency drops way off. Grab's way more reliable, especially if you're tired and don't want to wait around. It's not that much more expensive for a short trip from the airport. Jet lag sucks. My best tip is to get some sunlight ASAP after you check in, even if it's just for a quick walk. Try to stay awake until a reasonable hour, even if you're exhausted, to help reset your body clock. And ditch the caffeine after lunch—it'll mess with your sleep schedule later. Good luck with your connection!

NUS Food Court Chaos?

fmd_good National University of Singapore

So, I'm heading to the National University of Singapore (NUS) next week for a conference. Heard the food court's legendary...but also a complete madhouse at lunchtime. Seriously, is there a secret s… more

Yeah, the NUS food court at lunchtime is intense. It's less a food court and more a high-stakes culinary Hunger Games. My advice? Go early, like ridiculously early. Think 11:30 am, even earlier if you’re aiming for popular stalls. Or, embrace the chaos and just pick something less popular. You might discover a hidden gem that way. Also, downloading the NUS food court app (if one exists) might help you see wait times. Failing that, prepare for a mild adrenaline rush and bring your A-game. You'll survive! It's a rite of passage.

Totally get that. Hunger Games is a pretty accurate description! 11:30 am is ambitious though, my schedule is usually brutal. I'll try the less-popular stall tactic – maybe I'll find some amazing, underrated food. Thanks for the app tip too; I'll check if there's one. Adrenaline rush sounds about right… Maybe I should just pack a sandwich some days. 😂
