Nah, you're in luck. Biopolis is actually pretty well-situated food-wise. While it's not exactly brimming with hawker centres directly on the campus, you've got a few good options within a short walk or Grab ride. Check out the food courts in the nearby One-North area – plenty of variety there, usually cheaper than the stuff inside the Biopolis buildings. Also, there are a couple of decent cafes scattered around that area serving up more substantial meals than just sandwiches. You should be fine, honestly. Don't worry about subsisting solely on protein bars!

Yeah, Gardens by the Bay at night is seriously stunning. The light show is amazing. Finding affordable eats nearby is a total mission though, you're right. Most places around there are tourist traps. Try Satay by the Bay. It’s a little further away, but you can still get a decent view of the Supertrees from some of the tables, and the food's pretty good – and much more reasonable than the restaurants right next to the Grove. Otherwise, you might have better luck heading towards the Bayfront MRT station; there are a few hawker centers a short walk away with way more wallet-friendly options. Just maybe skip the view for those.
