Marina South Mysteries

fmd_good Marina South

So, I'm heading to Marina South next week. I've heard whispers... legends, even, about a hidden speakeasy tucked away somewhere near the waterfront. Apparently, it only opens for certain people, at c… more

That's a fun one! Marina South... yeah, there are rumors. Forget online, that's a black hole of misinformation for this kind of thing. Word-of-mouth is your only shot. Try talking to bartenders in the fancier hotels around the area – the ones with that kinda old money vibe. They're the gatekeepers. Don't expect them to just spill the beans, though. You'll have to subtly work your way into the conversation, maybe drop hints you're looking for something... exclusive. Good luck; finding it is half the fun, apparently it’s more about who you know than what you know.

NUS Food Court Chaos?

fmd_good National University of Singapore

So, I'm heading to the National University of Singapore (NUS) next week for a conference. Heard the food court's legendary...but also a complete madhouse at lunchtime. Seriously, is there a secret s… more

Yeah, the NUS food court at lunchtime is intense. It's less a food court and more a high-stakes culinary Hunger Games. My advice? Go early, like ridiculously early. Think 11:30 am, even earlier if you’re aiming for popular stalls. Or, embrace the chaos and just pick something less popular. You might discover a hidden gem that way. Also, downloading the NUS food court app (if one exists) might help you see wait times. Failing that, prepare for a mild adrenaline rush and bring your A-game. You'll survive! It's a rite of passage.

Totally get that. Hunger Games is a pretty accurate description! 11:30 am is ambitious though, my schedule is usually brutal. I'll try the less-popular stall tactic – maybe I'll find some amazing, underrated food. Thanks for the app tip too; I'll check if there's one. Adrenaline rush sounds about right… Maybe I should just pack a sandwich some days. 😂
