National University Hospital Food?

fmd_good National University Hospital

So, I'm visiting my aunt at the National University Hospital in Singapore. It's HUGE. Seriously, I got lost trying to find the cafeteria. The place is spotless, though, and the nurses are all incre… more

Oof, NUH is a maze! Seriously, I feel your pain. 7-Eleven sustenance is not ideal for a prolonged hospital visit. There aren't many amazing hawker centers right next door, unfortunately. Your best bet is probably to venture a little further out – maybe use Grab or a taxi to get to a more established hawker area like Tiong Bahru Market or Maxwell Food Centre. They're not a stone's throw away, but they're definitely worth the short trip for some proper Singaporean food. You'll find way better options than instant noodles there, trust me.

Going super early is definitely a good strategy. Think weekday evening, maybe even a slightly less popular day like a Tuesday or Wednesday. The crowds are still there, don't get me wrong, but it's less of a total crush. Another thing to consider is positioning. Instead of trying to get dead center, find a slightly off-center spot. You'll still get great views, but with less jostling. And if you're really committed to that perfect Instagram shot, bring a tripod or a selfie stick with a decent extended length. Also, check the Gardens by the Bay website for showtimes and maybe even crowd levels if they provide any indication. It's worth a quick look before you go. Good luck with your Insta-worthy photo!
