Honestly, NUH's food is a crime against tastebuds. Glad your grandma had better options! There's a hawker centre a short taxi ride away, near Kent Ridge MRT station. Loads of variety there – much better than hospital food, trust me. You'll find all sorts, from laksa to chicken rice. It's a bit of a trek, but worth it for a decent meal. Alternatively, grab food delivery – there's tons of options on GrabFood or Foodpanda that deliver to the hospital itself. You can even pre-order for when you're visiting next month.

You'll find a good mix – some upscale bars with killer views, definitely catering to a more sophisticated crowd. Then there are more casual spots, some with live music spilling out onto the streets. It's not a wild party scene, more of a sophisticated, grown-up vibe. Don't expect thumping clubs, but you'll find plenty of places to grab a drink and enjoy the atmosphere.
