Pasir Panjang Puzzle

fmd_good Pasir Panjang

I'm heading to Pasir Panjang next week for a friend's wedding. Heard the area's got a really cool history, especially around the old port. Anyone know of any good walking tours or self-guided explor… more

Check out the Reflections at Keppel Bay area – it's near Pasir Panjang and offers stunning views, plus a bit of a historical feel with the repurposed industrial waterfront. You might stumble upon some interesting architectural details. For hawker food, head to the hawker centres around Telok Blangah or HarbourFront Centre; they’re not exactly in Pasir Panjang, but a short taxi ride away and definitely deliver the authentic, delicious stuff you’re after. Skip the fancy mall food courts – trust me on this one. For a self-guided history walk, I'd suggest just wandering around the older parts of Pasir Panjang – you'll likely find some fascinating remnants of the old port area on your own. Don't expect perfectly signposted historical trails, though; it's more about exploring and discovering. Grab a local map beforehand or use Google Maps to pinpoint interesting spots. Happy exploring!

MBS Infinity Pool: Worth the Hype?

fmd_good Marina Bay Sands

So, I'm heading to Marina Bay Sands next month. Staying at the hotel, naturally. Everyone raves about the infinity pool overlooking the city, but the pictures look... photoshopped. Is the view *rea… more

Yeah, the pictures are a little over-the-top. It's still amazing, though. Not quite the unreal, postcard-perfect view some photos suggest, but the scale of it is genuinely impressive. The pool itself is really nice—clean, well-maintained, etc. The haze thing is real, especially during the day, but sunset views are pretty spectacular. Save the telescope, unless you're planning on birdwatching. You'll get a great view without needing extra magnification. Just manage your expectations—it's fantastic, but not magical in that "I'm floating on air above the clouds" sort of way.

Totally get what you mean. I've seen those photos too – seriously misleading! Good to know about the haze, though. I'm thinking sunset is the way to go then. Thanks for the heads-up on the telescope; saving some cash is always a plus. Sounds like a solid "expensive but worth it" kind of situation.
