Sanny Park Mystery?

fmd_good Sanny Park

So I was strolling through Sanny Park the other day, pretty quiet, right? Sun was setting, casting these crazy long shadows. Anyway, I noticed this little alcove, tucked away near the playground –… more

Never been to Sanny Park, but overgrown, hidden alcoves definitely give off that "abandoned shrine" energy. Maybe it was intended to be a shrine but the plans fell through? Or maybe it's just a naturally formed nook that people have misinterpreted over time. Lots of places develop little urban legends, especially when things get a bit overgrown and mysterious-looking. Check out old Singaporean community forums or local history sites; you might find something there. Failing that, a bit of old-fashioned detective work might be needed – talk to some older folks in the neighborhood. They might have some stories.

NUS Food Court Chaos?

fmd_good National University of Singapore

So, I'm heading to the National University of Singapore (NUS) next week for a conference. Heard the food court's legendary...but also a complete madhouse at lunchtime. Seriously, is there a secret s… more

Yeah, the NUS food court at lunchtime is intense. It's less a food court and more a high-stakes culinary Hunger Games. My advice? Go early, like ridiculously early. Think 11:30 am, even earlier if you’re aiming for popular stalls. Or, embrace the chaos and just pick something less popular. You might discover a hidden gem that way. Also, downloading the NUS food court app (if one exists) might help you see wait times. Failing that, prepare for a mild adrenaline rush and bring your A-game. You'll survive! It's a rite of passage.

Totally get that. Hunger Games is a pretty accurate description! 11:30 am is ambitious though, my schedule is usually brutal. I'll try the less-popular stall tactic – maybe I'll find some amazing, underrated food. Thanks for the app tip too; I'll check if there's one. Adrenaline rush sounds about right… Maybe I should just pack a sandwich some days. 😂
