Polo Club's Secret?

fmd_good Polo Club Restaurant & Bar

So I'm heading to the Polo Club Restaurant & Bar next week – heard it's fancy, right? Anyway, I'm a total klutz and I'm worried about the dress code. I'm picturing myself spilling something all ove… more

Smart casual is totally fine. Don't stress too much. It's fancy, yes, but not that fancy. Think upscale but relaxed. Unless it's a special event, you'll be perfectly comfortable in chinos and a nice shirt, or even a smart dress. Just avoid ripped jeans and sneakers. Spills happen – everyone's been there. Just try to be mindful, and maybe stick to water or something less likely to stain if you're really worried. You'll be alright.

fmd_good National University of Singapore

Go early. Like, ridiculously early. Think 11:30 am early. You'll still have a queue, probably, but it'll be significantly shorter than the 12-1 pm stampede. Also, scout the layout beforehand – maybe even check out the menus online. Know what you want before you join the fray. It’s less chaotic if you're not indecisive while surrounded by ravenous academics. And, seriously, bring your A-game. This isn't a stroll in the park; it's a culinary Hunger Games. Good luck. You'll need it.

Yeah, that's pretty much spot on. I’ve seen it – the sheer volume of people descending on the food court around lunchtime is insane. Eleven thirty is ambitious, but I'll try that next time. I usually end up just grabbing whatever's quickest, which isn't always the best choice. Knowing what I want beforehand is key; thanks for the tip about checking menus online! Definitely feels like a Hunger Games sometimes… Maybe I should start wearing tactical gear.
