That's great advice! I was worried it would all be super touristy. Tiong Bahru and Joo Chiat sound perfect – I love exploring older neighborhoods and finding good food. Thanks for the MRT tip too, I was a little nervous about navigating public transport in a new city. Getting lost in the backstreets sounds like my kind of adventure.
