Nah, it's a pretty good mix at NUS. You'll find some student-run operations, definitely, but mostly it's established local vendors. Think less "college dorm kitchen" and more "serious hawker fare, just conveniently located on campus". Forget Instagram; those places are usually overpriced and underwhelming. I'd just wander around – seriously, just explore the different food courts. You’ll stumble upon some amazing stuff that way. The variety is insane. You're guaranteed to find some killer, authentic Singaporean food without the tourist markup. Don’t overthink it! Just go with your gut.

Ugh, Value Hotel in Singapore? I stayed there last year. The wifi was... inconsistent, to put it mildly. Some days it was fine, other days I'd be wrestling with it for hours. It's definitely not a place to rely on for crucial work. If you need reliable internet, seriously, spring for something else. Your sanity (and deadline) will thank you.
