True, true. Michelin stars weren't exactly what I had in mind. Good call on the hawker centres near the MRT – hadn’t thought of that. Taxi's probably the easier option for me, less walking in the heat. Those industrial estate coffeeshops sound promising though...a bit of an adventure, maybe I'll stumble upon something unexpectedly good. Thanks for the tips! I'll definitely try to avoid the vending machine diet... the thought alone is depressing.
