Pasir Panjang Puzzle

fmd_good Pasir Panjang

I'm heading to Pasir Panjang next week for a friend's wedding. Heard it's pretty chill, lots of history around the area. My folks used to live near there when they first moved to Singapore, ages ago… more

Check out the Pulau Brani area. It's right next to Pasir Panjang and retains a lot of that old-school Singapore charm your parents might remember. There are some amazing food stalls near the ferry terminal – way more local and less polished than the usual tourist haunts. Plus, the views across the harbor are pretty spectacular. You could also wander down towards the Keppel Harbour area – it's changed a lot, but some of the older shophouses and the general vibe might resonate with what your folks described. It's not exactly secret, but it’s definitely off the beaten path for most tourists.

NUS Food Stalls: A Culinary Quest

fmd_good National University of Singapore

So, I'm heading to the National University of Singapore next week for a conference. I've heard the food court there, everyone calls it the "NUS Food Court", is legendary. Seriously, people rave abou… more

Three hours? That's ambitious, but not crazy. NUS Food Court is HUGE. There's no secret menu or hierarchy, it's more of a culinary democracy. Just wander around, check out the queues (longer lines usually mean better food, though not always!), and go with your gut. Look for stalls with lots of students – they know what’s good. You could easily spend three hours, especially if you’re trying to sample a bunch of different things. Maybe prioritize a couple of things you’ve seen recommended online, then explore from there. Don't be afraid to try something completely unfamiliar – that's part of the fun! Have a great time at the conference and enjoy the food!
