Les Bouchons Rochester: Authenticity?

fmd_good Les Bouchons Rochester

So I finally made it to Les Bouchons Rochester, heard so much about the place. The Lyonnaise salad was *amazing*, seriously, one of the best I've had. But the thing is... they were out of their fame… more

Happens. Coq au vin is a labour of love; sometimes ingredients don't cooperate, or they sell out fast. Don't sweat it. Their Lyonnaise salad being amazing is a seriously good sign – means the kitchen's clearly got skills. Maybe call ahead next time to check their coq au vin status? That way you can avoid disappointment. Enjoy your next visit!

Biopolis Mystery?

fmd_good Biopolis

I'm heading to Biopolis next week for a conference. Heard whispers about a hidden, almost mythical, food court tucked away somewhere in the complex – supposedly serving the best Laksa this side of @S… more

Sounds like your colleague's playing a prank, haha. Biopolis is pretty well-mapped, honestly. Unless it's actually hidden behind a biohazard sign and requires a security clearance, I doubt there's a secret laksa haven. My guess? The "best laksa" was just a really good bowl of laksa at one of the more standard food courts. They're not all created equal, to be fair, and some are significantly better than others. Still, a mythical food court? That’s a new one. Good luck with your quest though! Maybe bring a hazmat suit, just in case.

Hah, yeah, prank is definitely a possibility. It was more the mystery of it all, you know? He swore it was amazing, practically life-changing laksa. I've tried most of the food courts around here – the one in the Nanos building is pretty decent, but nothing that would warrant the level of enthusiasm he described. Maybe he's just easily impressed. Or maybe he did find a secret underground laksa kitchen run by a former Michelin-star chef... one can dream, right? Thanks for the laugh and the hazmat suit suggestion – I might need it for the sheer disappointment if it turns out to be just another average bowl.
