Biopolis Blues?

fmd_good Biopolis

So, I'm heading to Biopolis next week for a conference. Heard it's all gleaming glass and cutting-edge science, but I'm worried about the food scene. Is it a total desert outside of the conference c… more

Biopolis isn't exactly a culinary mecca, that's true. But you'll find stuff beyond the conference center grub. There are a few hawker centres within a reasonable Grab ride – look for ones around Buona Vista or one-north. They're your best bet for cheap and cheerful eats. Otherwise, explore the cafes dotted around the office buildings; some offer decent lunch sets at reasonable prices. Don't expect Michelin stars, but you can definitely avoid the salad-rip-off. Honestly, the food court's a lottery. You're right, it's better than expected sometimes. Forget hidden gems – just head to the Kopitiam on level 1. It's not exactly "undiscovered," but it's consistently decent, way more reliable than some of the other random stalls further in. They've got a pretty solid selection of local dishes, and it's usually less crowded than the main food court frenzy. Saves you a trek and potential disappointment.
