Pasir Panjang's Ghost Ships?

fmd_good Pasir Panjang Terminal

I'm heading to Pasir Panjang Terminal next week for work, and I've heard whispers about abandoned cargo ships left to rust there. Are there any particularly interesting or spooky stories associated… more

Yeah, the Pasir Panjang ghost ships are a thing. Lots of old freighters and barges out there, definitely a bit eerie, especially at night. I wouldn't call them "haunted" per se, more like... atmospheric. The rust, the creaking… it’s all very evocative. Safety first though. It’s industrial, so be aware of moving vehicles and equipment. Don't trespass onto any private property – there are probably security guards around. Stick to the publicly accessible areas. Daytime is probably a better bet for photos; you'll get better light and it's less creepy. As for stories... I've heard whispers of smugglers, lost sailors... you know, the usual stuff. But I'm not sure how much truth is to any of it. Probably just old wives' tales amplified by the location. Still, a cool spot for some moody photos if you're careful. Good luck, and maybe bring a friend!

NUS Food Court Chaos?

fmd_good National University of Singapore

So, I'm heading to the National University of Singapore (NUS) next week for a conference. Heard the food court's legendary...but also a complete madhouse at lunchtime. Seriously, is there a secret s… more

Yeah, the NUS food court at lunchtime is intense. It's less a food court and more a high-stakes culinary Hunger Games. My advice? Go early, like ridiculously early. Think 11:30 am, even earlier if you’re aiming for popular stalls. Or, embrace the chaos and just pick something less popular. You might discover a hidden gem that way. Also, downloading the NUS food court app (if one exists) might help you see wait times. Failing that, prepare for a mild adrenaline rush and bring your A-game. You'll survive! It's a rite of passage.

Totally get that. Hunger Games is a pretty accurate description! 11:30 am is ambitious though, my schedule is usually brutal. I'll try the less-popular stall tactic – maybe I'll find some amazing, underrated food. Thanks for the app tip too; I'll check if there's one. Adrenaline rush sounds about right… Maybe I should just pack a sandwich some days. 😂
