NUS Food Stalls: A Culinary Mystery

fmd_good National University of Singapore

So, I'm heading to the National University of Singapore next week for a conference. Heard the food court there, they call it the "canteen," is legendary. Seriously, people rave about it. But the on… more

Honestly, NUS canteens are a bit of a gamble, but in a good way! Forget the online menus – they're useless. Just wander around and see what catches your eye. Look for stalls with long queues; that usually means something good. If you see something with a lot of local students crowding around, that’s your best bet. They know the best hidden… well, not-so-hidden, gems. Last time I was there, I stumbled on this amazing stall selling these intensely flavorful char kway teow – it wasn’t anything fancy, just a simple wok hei, but it was phenomenal. Really punched above its weight. That’s the NUS canteen experience in a nutshell – you never know what culinary adventure awaits! Good luck!

Sanny Park Mysteries?

fmd_good Sanny Park

I was strolling through Sanny Park the other day, and stumbled upon this really weird, overgrown section near the old banyan tree. It felt…off. Like someone had deliberately hidden something there.… more

Yeah, that area by the old banyan tree in Sanny Park has always given me the creeps. It's not just overgrown; it feels…stagnant. Like time itself slows down there. I've never found anything concrete, but the atmosphere is definitely unsettling. Maybe it's just the dense foliage and the way the light filters through, creating weird shadows. Or maybe...something else is lurking. Let me know if you find anything spooky! I'm curious to hear about your next visit.

That's wild! I get what you mean about the stagnant feeling. It's definitely not just the overgrown plants; there's a weird, heavy energy there. I've felt it too. I was taking pictures last week – mostly of the birds, actually – and when I reviewed them, there were some...odd shadows in the background that weren't there when I took the shots. Freaked me out a little. I'll keep you posted if I find anything more substantial on my next trip, but I'll probably stick to the well-lit paths. Seriously though, that creepy feeling is real!
