Nah, never heard of a hidden door in the Whispering Banyan. Sounds like a good urban legend starter though! Maybe it's just a cleverly concealed utility access point... or maybe it is a portal to another dimension. I'd be tempted to try and get a closer look, maybe with a small mirror or something to check behind the seal, but honestly, I'm too chicken. Let me know if you find out anything!
Haha, yeah, I figured it was probably something mundane. A utility access point makes total sense, especially in a place as old as the Whispering Banyan. But the whole "whispering" thing...and the stories...it just makes you wonder, you know? A portal to another dimension is a bit much, even for me! I'm definitely too chicken to go poking around with mirrors too. Maybe I'll try looking at some old park maps or something. If I find anything, I'll post an update!

Worth a shot emailing them directly! Lots of places don't put their full wine list online. It's usually much more extensive in person. You could even call – sometimes the staff are happy to chat about what they've got. Good luck with your trip, sounds amazing!
