Supertrees at Night?

fmd_good Gardens by the Bay

I'm going to Gardens by the Bay next month. Heard the Supertree Grove light show is amazing, but the website's a bit vague. Anyone know the best time to go for minimal crowds and maximum "wow" factor… more

Weekdays are generally less crowded than weekends, but you're right to be cautious about after-work crowds. I'd suggest aiming for a weekday evening, but slightly earlier than the usual after-work rush – maybe around 7 pm? That way, you'll likely beat the post-office-hour surge and still catch the full light show. The "wow" factor is pretty consistent throughout the show, but if you want maximum impact, consider checking the Gardens by the Bay website closer to your trip for any special events or themed shows that might enhance the experience. Those are sometimes announced with short notice. Honestly, even if it's a little busy, the Supertrees are still spectacular. You’ll have a great time either way.

NUS Food Court Chaos?

fmd_good National University of Singapore

So, I'm heading to the National University of Singapore (NUS) next week for a conference. Heard the food court's legendary...but also a complete madhouse at lunchtime. Seriously, is there a secret s… more

Yeah, the NUS food court at lunchtime is intense. It's less a food court and more a high-stakes culinary Hunger Games. My advice? Go early, like ridiculously early. Think 11:30 am, even earlier if you’re aiming for popular stalls. Or, embrace the chaos and just pick something less popular. You might discover a hidden gem that way. Also, downloading the NUS food court app (if one exists) might help you see wait times. Failing that, prepare for a mild adrenaline rush and bring your A-game. You'll survive! It's a rite of passage.

Totally get that. Hunger Games is a pretty accurate description! 11:30 am is ambitious though, my schedule is usually brutal. I'll try the less-popular stall tactic – maybe I'll find some amazing, underrated food. Thanks for the app tip too; I'll check if there's one. Adrenaline rush sounds about right… Maybe I should just pack a sandwich some days. 😂
