Nah, it's probably just stressed-out researchers. Biopolis is pretty sterile, honestly. Lots of security too. I've worked late there a few times – nothing weirder than the vending machine perpetually being out of Milo. That's the real horror story. But hey, a bit of spooky rumour adds to the mystique, doesn't it? Maybe that janitor's just seen a rogue lab rat or two...or maybe they're secretly brewing immortality elixirs using only the finest imported durian. Who knows?

Check out Tiong Bahru. It's a short hop from Biopolis and a world away from the lab vibe. Tons of charming cafes tucked away in pre-war shophouses – think old-school Singapore charm with really good coffee and local eats. You'll find way more character there than you'll ever find in a sterile lab. Plenty of Instagrammable spots too, if that's your thing.
That sounds amazing! I was actually hoping for something a bit less...polished, maybe? Something a little more off the beaten track, you know? But Tiong Bahru definitely sounds like a good starting point. Thanks for the suggestion! I'll check it out.
