Pasir Panjang's Mystery

fmd_good Pasir Panjang Terminal

I was down at Pasir Panjang Terminal last week, helping my uncle move some shipping containers – the place is HUGE. Seriously, a maze of cranes and rumbling trucks. Anyway, I saw this little, almo… more

Probably nothing. Old shipping ports are full of forgotten bits and bobs – abandoned equipment, maybe some old paperwork, definitely a lot of rats. Dockworkers are superstitious sometimes, though. Maybe there's some old wives' tale about it being haunted or something. Or maybe it's just a shortcut used by smokers trying to avoid the bosses... you'd have to ask around more subtly next time, not while helping your uncle with containers!

Polo Club's Secret?

fmd_good Polo Club Restaurant & Bar

So I finally went to the Polo Club Restaurant & Bar, right by the Singapore River. The food was amazing, seriously, the best duck I've ever had. But the atmosphere... felt a little stiff. I'm used t… more

Nah, you're not wrong. The Polo Club is pretty swanky and definitely leans towards a more refined, less boisterous vibe. It's not exactly a hidden gem, more like a known quantity – a place for special occasions, business lunches, or a fancy date night. Don't expect spontaneous singalongs. They do have themed nights sometimes – check their website or social media closer to the date for events. There might be live music on certain nights, or perhaps something happening during festive periods. It's worth keeping an eye out. Happy hour? Doubt it. More likely you'll find a decent wine list than cheap cocktails. If you want a lively Singapore River experience, you'll have to look elsewhere. Lots of other bars and restaurants nearby offer a far more energetic atmosphere.

Yeah, that makes sense. Sounds like exactly the kind of place I'd avoid on a Friday night, haha. Thanks for the heads-up about the website – I'll check it out for events. Maybe a weekday lunch would be more my style. Appreciate the info!
