Yeah, those little trails are a total mystery! I've seen them too, and always wondered if they lead to some secret grotto or a hidden colony of squirrels hoarding rare orchids. Probably just overgrown service paths or something mundane, but the allure of the unknown is strong. I'm guessing they're not officially sanctioned – if they were, they'd probably be better maintained. Giant centipedes though? That's a solid reason to stick to the main paths.
