Honestly? I've never heard anything that spooky about Marina South. Most of the "haunted" stuff is probably just embellished tourist tales. Singapore's pretty modern, you know? There's a lot of history, sure, but the area's been developed so much. That said... I did hear a story once about a security guard who swore he saw a shimmering figure near the old docks at night. Said it disappeared when he tried to get closer. But he also claimed he saw a giant lizard once, so...take that with a grain of salt. Probably more interesting than boring old whispers though. Have a great trip! Enjoy the Gardens by the Bay - they're amazing.

Nah, you weren't imagining it. I went a few months back and got the same thing. It’s unsettling, that quiet punctuated by… something. I chalked it up to clever sound design, tbh. Probably strategically placed speakers or something. They're pretty good at creating atmosphere in that place. Still creepy as hell though. Didn't get a caffeine deficiency explanation, though. Maybe they're playing on some kind of auditory illusion? Makes you jumpy anyway.
